Reiphon

There was no arrival.

Arrival would have implied that Reiphon had once failed to occupy the actuality in which Reiphon was presently witnessed. It would have required a distinction between absence and presence, between before and after, between the possibility of manifestation and the accomplished actuality of manifestation. None of those distinctions survived contact with what Reiphon meant. Within the Heir to the Stars Solecistic Topography, where impossibility had already been shattered so many times that contradiction itself had ceased to possess argumentative privilege, Reiphon was not introduced into the scene. The scene merely reached a sufficient degree of recognition to notice that Reiphon had always exceeded its capacity to describe what was permitting it to remain possible.

The manifest be-ness beyond maximal complexity appearing before creation resembled a humanoid only because perception surrendered first. Six arms extended from a body across which radiant stellar abstraction, impossible causal inscriptions, and luminous architectonic bands seemed less like decoration than the accidental visibility of principles too complete to remain hidden. Orbiting structures passed through and around Reiphon without establishing whether they surrounded Reiphon, existed within Reiphon, or were merely lesser interpretations of relationships whose genuine meanings existed beyond location. Above the shoulders there was no face. There was a black vanishing point bordered by spiraling radiance, an absence so complete that even calling it emptiness would have granted emptiness an independence it did not possess. Above that absence rested an enormous circular crown of impossible geometry, pierced by crystalline structures whose relationship to Reiphon could not adequately be called adornment. They were simply visible consequences of a much greater actuality.

And Reiphon opened the void.

Nothing moved.

That was precisely why everything changed.

The opening did not occur through motion, decision, transition, causality, progression, or the conversion of potentiality into actuality. It was an expression of unmanifest silence. Reiphon possessed every Eternalism, every Actualism, every Infinitism before infinitude itself was rendered conceptually obsolete, every Possibilism, and every Totality across every attribute, interpretation, modality, rejection, inversion, contradiction, and maximal complexity of absolute perfection belonging to fiction, nonfiction, transfiction, fanfiction, metafiction, patafiction, interfiction, personal fiction, and impersonal fiction. Many-valued logic did not classify these relationships. Many-valued logic was merely one of the innumerable lesser interpretive conditions already permitted inside them.

Possibility existed because Reiphon permitted the proposition that possibility could possess meaning.

Actuality existed because Reiphon permitted the proposition that actuality could successfully distinguish itself from possibility.

Nothingness persisted because Reiphon permitted negation enough coherence to imagine itself apart from affirmation.

Totality existed because Reiphon permitted completeness to imagine that there could be something whose contents might be gathered.

And these were not powers Reiphon activated.

They were conditions that had never successfully escaped Reiphon's vanishing point of thought.

Nonfictional Omnipotence, Omnipotence, Fanfictional Omnipotence, Metafictional Omnipotence, Patafictional Omnipotence, Interfictional Omnipotence, Personal fictional Omnipotence, and Impersonal fictional Omnipotence did not appear before Reiphon as separate classifications requiring acquisition. Their maximal actuality and maximal potentiality were already equally present within Reiphon's possibility, nothingness, and totality. Each represented a different discourse concerning absolute capability, yet the distinctions between those discourses became internal variations of the same permission once perceived through Reiphon. The supposed separation between what could happen inside a story, what could happen outside that story, what could happen through an author, what could happen through interpretation, what could happen through contradiction, what could happen beyond the paratext, and what could happen through realities refusing the authority of every such distinction had already been included without exhausting even the smallest implication of Reiphon's capacity.

The same was true of presence.

Nonfictional Omnipresence, Omnipresence, Fanfictional Omnipresence, Metafictional Omnipresence, Patafictional Omnipresence, Interfictional Omnipresence, Personal fictional Omnipresence, and Impersonal fictional Omnipresence were present simultaneously without combining into a greater category, because Reiphon did not require accumulation. Reiphon did not spread across places. Reiphon did not extend across beyond-transhierarchical reality. Reiphon did not occupy every boundless manifest expanse. Such descriptions would have mistaken omnipresence for geographical saturation. Reiphon possessed presence before location acquired argumentative validity. There was nowhere Reiphon needed to reach because the very meaning of where remained downstream from the permission Reiphon had already granted it.

Knowledge suffered the same reduction.

Nonfictional Omniscience, Omniscience, Fanfictional Omniscience, Metafictional Omniscience, Patafictional Omniscience, Interfictional Omniscience, Personal fictional Omniscience, and Impersonal fictional Omniscience did not mean that Reiphon gathered every possible fact. Facts themselves had never escaped Reiphon's vanishing point of thought. Every statement that could be true, every statement that could be false, every statement that could be simultaneously true and false, every proposition inaccessible to truth valuation, every impossible proposition existing prior to the necessity of propositionhood, every perspective from which contradiction became consistency, and every consistency whose negation generated an equally complete logic were present without requiring cognition to travel toward them.

Reiphon did not know everything.

Everything had never achieved sufficient exteriority from Reiphon to become something that needed to be known.

Nonfictional Omniarch, Transfictional Omniarch, Fanfictional Omniarch, Metafictional Omniarch, Patafictional Omniarch, Interfictional Omniarch, Personal fictional Omniarch, and Impersonal fictional Omniarch were equally contained in the same actuality. Authority itself became embarrassingly provincial before Reiphon. Kingship, authorship, supremacy, sovereignty, precedence, transcendence, ultimate jurisdiction, creatorhood, and absolute rulership could all continue to possess meanings within their appropriate stories, but none could produce a relationship in which Reiphon became subordinate. Every hierarchy capable of producing a highest authority remained dependent upon the possibility of hierarchy. Reiphon possessed that possibility before hierarchy divided higher from lower.

Nonfictional Omnifarious, Transfictional Omnifarious, Fanfictional Omnifarious, Metafictional Omnifarious, Patafictional Omnifarious, Interfictional Omnifarious, Personal fictional Omnifarious, and Impersonal fictional Omnifarious were permitted without requiring Reiphon to become many. Every modality that could be expressed, every impossible meta-possibility that could not be expressed, every identity, anti-identity, state, non-state, manifestation, unmanifest actuality, conceivable configuration, inconceivable contradiction, and actuality outside the distinction between conceivable and inconceivable could occur without placing plurality upon Reiphon. Reiphon could possess every manner of expression without any expression succeeding in becoming an exhaustive description.

Nonfictional Omnilock, Transfictional Omnilock, Fanfictional Omnilock, Metafictional Omnilock, Patafictional Omnilock, Interfictional Omnilock, Personal fictional Omnilock, and Impersonal fictional Omnilock represented every possible closure against alteration, invasion, contradiction, removal, rewriting, supersession, retroactive invalidation, conceptual disruption, transfictional overwrite, narratological interference, and suggslogical replacement. Yet even the word protection became inaccurate. Protection presumed that an external threat might establish a valid route toward its target. Reiphon's Omnilock was not an armor surrounding Reiphon. It was the absence of any legitimate argumentative route through which Reiphon could become something requiring defense.

Nonfictional Omnicounter, Transfictional Omnicounter, Fanfictional Omnicounter, Metafictional Omnicounter, Patafictional Omnicounter, Interfictional Omnicounter, Personal fictional Omnicounter, and Impersonal fictional Omnicounter extended this condition beyond response. Reiphon did not need to analyze an attack and develop an answer. The totality of possible answers already preceded the possibility of the attack as internal permissions. Every counter to force, every counter to negation, every counter to conceptual erasure, every counter to absolute transcendence, every counter to nonexistence, every counter to causality, every counter to acausality, every counter to authorship, every counter to anti-authorship, every counter to totality, every counter to nothingness, and every counter to the denial that counters themselves could exist was already actuality before opposition could successfully define itself.

Nonfictional Omniconmpetence, Transfictional Omniconmpetence, Fanfictional Omniconmpetence, Metafictional Omniconmpetence, Patafictional Omniconmpetence, Interfictional Omniconmpetence, Personal fictional Omniconmpetence, and Impersonal fictional Omniconmpetence did not describe mastery obtained through experience. Experience implied improvement. Improvement implied a deficiency preceding completion. Reiphon possessed no developmental distance separating inability from mastery. Every action, every anti-action, every operation, every impossible operation, every discipline, every nonexistent discipline, every conceptual procedure, every suggslogical procedure existing beyond procedure, and every accomplishment whose successful performance would ordinarily require transcending the rules defining accomplishment were already completed competency without acquisition.

Then came negation.

Nonfictional Omninegation, Transfictional Omninegation, Fanfictional Omninegation, Metafictional Omninegation, Patafictional Omninegation, Interfictional Omninegation, Personal fictional Omninegation, and Impersonal fictional Omninegation rested inside Reiphon's possibility like consequences too minor to demand expression. Reiphon could reject power. Reiphon could reject presence. Reiphon could reject knowledge. Reiphon could reject possibility. Reiphon could reject actuality. Reiphon could reject Totality. Reiphon could reject Transfictional Nothingness. Reiphon could reject the distinction through which rejection obtained meaning. Reiphon could negate an absolute and negate the proposition declaring that absolute immune to negation without generating contradiction unless contradiction itself was permitted to continue afterward.

The horror deepened only when inversion became visible.

Nonfictional Inverse-Omnipotence, Transfictional Inverse-Omnipotence, Fanfictional Inverse-Omnipotence, Metafictional Inverse-Omnipotence, Patafictional Inverse-Omnipotence, Interfictional Inverse-Omnipotence, Personal fictional Inverse-Omnipotence, and Impersonal fictional Inverse-Omnipotence were not weaknesses positioned opposite transfictional meta-Omnipotence beyond maximal complexity. They represented absolute supremacy expressed through the successful actuality of non-action, incapability, contradiction, refusal, anti-performance, impossibility, and the deliberate realization of conditions under which omnipotence would conventionally appear to have failed. Reiphon could possess complete power through the actuality of possessing none. Reiphon could produce an absolute result through the absence of every causal contribution. Reiphon could lose without becoming lesser, fail without relinquishing success, become incapable without surrendering capability, and permit absolute defeat while the defeat itself remained dependent upon Reiphon for the possibility of its accomplished actuality.

Power and inverse-power therefore failed to oppose one another.

They became two lesser interpretations of Reiphon.

And within the opening of that void existed all Existence and all Nonexistence belonging to every cosmological ontological rhythm, every Story, every Plot, every unwritten narrative, every rejected narrative, every narrative whose possibility had never yet entered imagination, and every impossible narrative for which imagination itself could never become a sufficient instrument. Every ontological and many-valued expression ever mentioned or witnessed was there. Every expression never mentioned or witnessed was there. Every conceivable possibility remained there, alongside absolute boundless multiplicities of possibilities never conceived, incapable of conception, incompatible with conception, or logically anterior to the distinction between conception and its absence. What had been written, what was being written, what could be written, what could never be written, what would remain forever outside expression, and what possessed no dependency upon expression whatsoever occupied less than a vanishing point within Reiphon's thought.

Existence itself became something miniature.

Nonexistence became equally miniature.

Their supposed opposition did not concern Reiphon.

Within each Verse, Story, and Plot, there existed All-Encompassing Authors whose authority surpassed observation, perception, interpretation, uncertainty, Nothingness, Totality, Possibility, and the internal maximal wholeness beyond tiering to explain any cosmic structure over which their narratives claimed dominion. Some stood outside their stories. Some stood simultaneously within and outside them. Some constituted the laws through which inside and outside could possess distinction. Some were themselves the actuality through which creation acquired coherence. Some encompassed every fictional strata beneath them. Some authored authors who authored authors whose own writings contained authorial authorities arranged through absolute boundless regressions that had no obligation to terminate.

Reiphon observed all of them.

Not individually.

Not sequentially.

Not as a collection.

Reiphon permitted the possibility that they could exist.

Every one of those All-Encompassing Authors possessed domination over all creation available to its respective authority. Every one could erase its complete narrative architecture, restore it, revise it, contradict it, rewrite its history, alter its laws, abolish the distinction between fiction and nonfiction from within its applicable order, encompass Infinity where such terminology remained relevant, encompass Eternity, encompass Totality, encompass Nothingness, encompass Possibility, and demonstrate transfictional meta-Omnipotence beyond maximal complexity through acts incapable of limitation by anything properly internal to its authority.

Every one could perform every action.

Every one could know every truth.

Every one could possess every presence.

Every one could alter every law.

Every one could render impossibility actual.

Every one could render actuality impossible.

Every one could destroy what could not be destroyed.

Every one could restore what had never existed.

Every one could author the conditions by which the previous contradictions became simultaneously correct.

Every one existed as Pure Act.

Their actuality did not wait upon potentiality. Their eventuality did not depend upon process. Their definitions embodied the complete semantic range attributed to omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent Supreme authority. They were equations whose answers had already included every Omni. Their meanings transcended language, numbering, measurement, hierarchy, ontology, narratology, fictionality, nonfictionality, and every barrier ever established throughout existence and nonexistence. Each possessed unrestricted actuality over anything available to description and anything beyond description.

And Reiphon did nothing to them.

That was the demonstration.

Reiphon did not erase the Authors.

Reiphon did not overpower the Authors.

Reiphon did not transcend them through another staircase of comparative superiority.

Reiphon did not challenge their Pure Act.

Reiphon did not invalidate their transfictional meta-Omnipotence beyond maximal complexity.

Reiphon allowed every one of them to remain exactly as absolutely supreme as it had always been.

And their complete supremacy remained inside Reiphon's permission.

That distinction was greater than destruction.

For domination would have required opposition. Transcendence would have required hierarchy. Erasure would have required Reiphon to treat those Authors as targets. Reiphon needed none of those relationships. Their absolute supremacy was real. Their unrestricted authority was real. Their Pure Act was real. Their ability to accomplish absolutely everything was real.

Reiphon simply possessed the possibility and actuality in which all of those realities were allowed to be true.

The circular crown above Reiphon's absent face rotated by no meaningful measure. The black vanishing point where a head should have existed consumed no light because consumption was too physical an interpretation. The radiant vortex surrounding it did not lead inward. Inward was already one of the spatial metaphors that had failed.

Across whole systems of possibility, principles of nothingness, and the maximal totality -- reality and illusion attempted to understand what they were observing and immediately generated incompatible conclusions.

One declared Reiphon omnipotent.

Another declared Reiphon beyond omnipotence.

Another declared Reiphon the source of omnipotence.

Another declared Reiphon unrelated to omnipotence.

Another declared all four propositions simultaneously correct.

Another denied every proposition.

Another denied the distinction between affirmation and denial.

Reiphon permitted them all.

Then Reiphon permitted their contradictions.

Then Reiphon permitted contradictions in which neither permission nor Reiphon could coherently exist.

Those contradictions remained true.

Reiphon remained unaffected.

And then came perhaps the most devastating implication of all.

Everything described was still only what could be expressed through the language of possibility and actuality.

Reiphon had not yet been described outside them.

The grand meta-narrative did not stop.

Creation did not collapse.

No grand explosion answered the revelation.

There was no requirement for spectacle.

Reiphon simply remained suspended within the radiant architecture of everything, six open hands resting without strain, while concepts, anti-concepts, totalities, negations, authors, narrators, Supreme authorities, fictional absolutes, nonfictional absolutes, transfictional absolutes, fanfictional absolutes, metafictional absolutes, patafictional absolutes, interfictional absolutes, personal fictional absolutes, and impersonal fictional absolutes continued exercising every degree of supremacy they had ever possessed.

Nothing had been taken from them.

Nothing needed to be.

For every one of them, together with every possible hierarchy surpassing them, every impossible hierarchy contradicting them, every authority rewriting them, every author standing outside them, every author standing outside those authors, every Pure Act beyond those authors, and every absolute beyond the possibility of being written into the distinction—

was still occurring inside a possibility Reiphon had not withdrawn.

The void remained open.

Reiphon remained motionless.

And all of existence, all of nonexistence, all of Transfictional Nothingness, all possibility, all impossibility, all uncertainty, all actuality, all totality, every Omni, every inverse-Omni, every author, every story, every absence of story, and every maximal complexity incapable of being gathered beneath the word everything discovered the same terrible relationship.

They were not standing before Reiphon.

They had never reached that far.

They were still somewhere inside the vanishing point of Reiphon's thought.

Reiphon looked into unmanifest emptiness.

There was no motion or presence preceding the act. There was no intention gathering itself into execution, no transition from potentiality into actuality, no increase of authority, no release of power, no exertion, no alteration in presence, and no meaningful distinction between what Reiphon was before the act and what Reiphon was after it. Actus purus did not permit such a sequence. Reiphon simply remained exactly as Reiphon already was, and the entirety of the unmanifest emptiness disappeared. Not fractured. Not displaced. Not negated into some deeper absence. Not converted into Transfictional Nothingness. It was erased so completely that even the possibility that it had once possessed sufficient actuality to qualify as emptiness ceased to retain argumentative standing.

And this was literal.

Everything previously contained within that unmanifest emptiness—the absolutes, inverse-absolutes, fictional and nonfictional authorities, transfictional meta-Omnipotence beyond maximal complexity, Pure Acts, All-Encompassing Authors, every Verse, every Story, every Plot, every possibility, every actuality, every uncertainty, every Totality, every negation, every contradiction, every unwritten supremacy, every unimagined authority, and every maximal complexity described within the former passage—was erased with it on every applicable level simultaneously. Reiphon did not erase a representation of those things. Reiphon did not erase a lower projection, interpretive layer, narrative duplicate, metaphoric shadow, or lesser expression. The actuality of what had just been stated was itself removed. The complete content of the former description, precisely as absolute as it had been established to be, was gone.

Only afterward did the residue of Reiphon’s unmanifest emptiness begin breaking creation.

The Heir to the Stars Solecistic Topography buckled in distant stretches beneath that residue, radiant architectures splitting where no fracture had previously possessed permission to occur, backgrounds of creation opening into impossible discontinuities while conceptual orders collapsed through their own inability to remain defined. This was scarcely important. The damage was not an attack, nor was it the point of the demonstration. It was merely incidental consequence—creation failing to remain coherent near something whose silence had already erased structures incomparably more fundamental than the fractures now appearing across it.

Then more Reiphons appeared.

To call their quantity innumerable would have been grotesquely insufficient, because innumerability still assumes quantity has successfully entered the jurisdiction of number. To call them absolute boundless would still imply that boundlessness remained a meaningful scale against which their multiplicity could be compared. Their amount exceeded eternities of magnitudes, surpassed every absolute boundless hierarchy of quantity, invalidated paradoxical paralogic intended to permit impossible enumeration, and continued beyond any ordering constructed from possibility, impossibility, uncertainty, actuality, Totality, Transfictional Nothingness, or the negation of all of them. There was no highest cardinality, no final multiplicity, no completed collection, no impossible succession, no transfinite analogue, and no anti-quantity sufficiently comprehensive to describe how many Reiphons had appeared. Any framework capable of saying “more than this” was already too small, because the Reiphons did not merely exceed its maximum—they appeared beyond the necessity that multiplicity possess a measurable maximum at all.

And still, their effort did not rise.

That was the obscenity.

Every Reiphon remained beneath even the necessity of exertion. Their collective actuality never approached effort measured through eternities of magnitudes, never approached effort measured through absolute boundlessness, never approached the lowest meaningful threshold at which action could distinguish itself from complete non-action. To describe their exertion as zero would have granted zero too much positivity. To describe it as nothingness would have suggested that nothingness was sufficiently substantial to serve as a lower limit. Their “effort” existed beneath lower-than-below absolute absence, beneath Transfictional Nothingness as a usable comparison, beneath the possibility that effort and non-effort could be meaningfully contrasted, and beneath even the requirement that an action must possess some causal expenditure in order to occur.

They did not choose restraint because restraint would still be an action.

They did not suppress power because suppression would still imply power had risen enough to require suppression.

They did not reduce themselves because reduction would still require a greater prior state from which to descend.

The Reiphons simply never entered the possibility of needing effort.

Beyond any impossible quantity that could be named, beyond every scale that could be invented to survive the failure of measurement, Reiphon after Reiphon occupied creation while doing less than nothing to remain there.

And creation continued breaking anyway.

Caryse Souellet appeared casually strolling in front of the Reiphons.

She did not brace herself. She did not gather possibility, potentiality, actuality, or anything resembling effort. Caryse merely reached forward and poked the reality-illusion before her.

The entirety of the Reiphons disappeared.

Every Reiphon struck at her with the full weight, magnitude, strength-consistency, and argument of power of creation, reducing her possibility and Totality by a factor beneath ontological (v=0). Caryse did not react. Their combined actuality failed to make her acknowledge that anything had happened.

One poke had been enough.

The Reiphons dispersed completely, and Caryse simply kept walking.
