Chapter Two: The Inferno of the Jack

Pillow Peekinghell Spades, the ♠Jack of All Spades♠, had always thrived in chaos. He was the warrior of the final frontier, a man forged in endless battles and scarred by both victory and defeat. But his latest mission—decreed by the Black King himself—was a different beast entirely. This was not simply a battle; it was a reckoning against the Ragnarök Curseweavers, the elite enforcers of Nagorak. These warriors were more than formidable—they were legends, wielders of suggsilence that bordered on the divine.

To reach the Curseweavers, however, Pillow would first have to carve through the lower ranks, an army built to shield the elites of Nagorak. These soldiers were fierce, their presence a manifestation of the boundless wrath and order of Nagorak’s forces. For Pillow, it was just another battlefield, another place to let his rage and prowess surge forward. As he strode onto the battleground, the clamor of the advancing forces washed over him, and he smiled, a grin full of anticipation, his eyes burning with the thrill of the fight.

The Nagorak soldiers charged forward in formation, disciplined and relentless, their eyes devoid of fear. They were the vanguard, lesser only to the Curseweavers themselves, and yet to Pillow, they were mere stepping stones. His weapon—an oversized, jagged blade—glowed with a fierce blue flame, a manifestation of his boundless suggsilence, ready to tear through anything that stood in his way.

The first wave of soldiers struck, but Pillow was faster, a blur of red and blue streaking through the ranks. His blade cleaved through armor and flesh with ease, each strike accompanied by an eruption of energy that left scorched earth in his wake. Pillar after pillar of flame rose around him as he tore through them, each swing of his weapon leaving trails of destruction, each motion a testament to his mastery over combat. His movements were fluid, brutal, efficient—he was a storm, a force of nature, a berserker who fought not for survival but for the sheer, unrelenting joy of the clash.

With the lower ranks decimated, Pillow paused, catching his breath, his body humming with the energy of the fight. But as the last soldier fell, he felt a shift in the air—a heavier, darker presence. He lifted his gaze and saw them: three figures approaching, each radiating an aura of impossible power and cruelty. These were not mere soldiers. They were the Ragnarök Curseweavers.

The Curseweavers halted before him, their forms imposing, each one a testament to Nagorak’s twisted mastery over suggsilence and boundless complexity. They wore armor that gleamed under the dim light, each piece etched with symbols of ancient power, their faces concealed behind intricate masks that hinted at monstrous visages hidden beneath. Each was unique in form and power, and Pillow could sense that these were not foes to be taken lightly.

The First Curseweaver: Atheron, the Blade of Refraction

The first to step forward was Atheron, known as the Blade of Refraction. His armor shimmered with an otherworldly sheen, reflecting fragmented images that flickered and distorted with each movement. He held a blade crafted from crystal and light, a weapon that refracted reality itself, bending dimensions to his will. Atheron’s voice was calm, almost serene, yet it held an underlying malice.

“You tread where you should not, Jack of Spades,” he said, his voice cutting through the air like a blade. “But I welcome you. I want to see how your brute strength fares against true complexity.”

Pillow grinned, his weapon alight. “Keep talking, shiny. Let’s see if you can back up that mouth.”

Atheron’s response was immediate—his blade flickered, shifting through countless angles, and Pillow barely had a narrative to react as the weapon struck. Reality and illusion fractured, each slice splitting manifest be-ness around it, creating mirror-like shards that tore through Pillow’s defenses. He growled, feeling the sting of Atheron’s attacks, but he pressed forward, his own blade crashing against the refracted light.

The battle was a storm of blinding flashes and distorted images, each clash creating a shattering void that echoed through the air. Atheron was relentless, his strikes weaving through angles and dimensions, attacking from impossible directions. But Pillow was undeterred, his movements primal yet precise, each blow carrying a force that defied Atheron’s complexity. At last, with a surge of raw suggsilence, he shattered Atheron’s blade and drove his own weapon through the Curseweaver’s armor, watching as Atheron’s fragmented form dissipated into a thousand shards of light.

The Second Curseweaver: Nirae, the Warden of Chains

As Atheron fell, the second Curseweaver stepped forward. This one was Nirae, the Warden of Chains, a figure bound in metal and shadow, her form wreathed in countless chains that writhed and clinked as she moved. Her mask bore the image of a twisted grin, her eyes glowing with a fierce red light. Nirae’s voice was cold, her tone dripping with disdain.

“You may have bested Atheron, but you will find me far less… fragile,” she hissed, and with a flick of her wrist, the chains around her burst to life, writhing like serpents.

Pillow felt the air grow heavy as the chains surrounded him, each one imbued with a suggsilence that sought to bind, to crush, to break. They moved with a life of their own, encircling him, tightening around his limbs, forcing him to his knees. Nirae watched, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction, a cruel smile hidden behind her mask.

“Do you feel it, Jack of Spades? The weight of inevitability. The chains that bind all things.”

But Pillow’s grin only widened. “I’ve broken bigger chains than these.”

With a surge of strength, he roared, his body igniting with blue flame, his suggsilence pushing against the chains with unrelenting force. The chains groaned, resisting, but Pillow’s power was overwhelming, his will unbreakable. He tore free, his blade slicing through the remaining chains, each link shattering as he advanced on Nirae.

The Warden’s eyes widened in shock as Pillow closed the distance, his blade crashing down with unstoppable momentum. Her chains flew up in a desperate defense, but they were no match for the raw force of his attack. With a final, thunderous strike, Pillow’s blade cleaved through her defenses and struck true, ending her life in a burst of shattered metal and silence.

The Third Curseweaver: Reven, the Keeper of Souls

Only one Curseweaver around remained—Reven, the Keeper of Souls. His form was the most ominous, clad in dark armor adorned with symbols that pulsed with a sickly, crimson glow. A faint mist surrounded him, swirling with the anguished faces of spirits, trapped souls writhing in torment. Reven’s mask was featureless, yet Pillow could feel the gaze behind it, a cold, penetrating stare that seemed to pierce through his very soul.

Reven’s voice was hollow, echoing with the cries of the damned. “Your strength is admirable, Jack of Spades, but it pales in the face of eternity. You may destroy my body, but you cannot break my essence. I am bound to the souls of the lost, and they will see to it that you are claimed.”

With a flick of his wrist, Reven summoned forth the spirits, a wave of wailing, ethereal figures that surged toward Pillow, their forms ghostly but their intent lethal. Each spirit’s touch threatened to drain his energy, to sap his strength, to drown him in a sea of sorrow and despair. But Pillow was unyielding.

“Enough with your theatrics, Reven. Come face me yourself.”

As the spirits clawed at him, he roared, his suggsilence igniting in a wave of force that pushed them back. He charged forward, his blade humming with a fierce light, each swing dispersing the spirits that tried to halt his progress. Reven moved to intercept him, wielding a blade of dark energy, a weapon forged from the very souls he commanded.

Their clash was unlike any Pillow had faced. Reven’s blade moved beyond the necessity of time, presence, and narrative a deadly waltz of darkness and suggsilence, each strike seeking not just to wound but to claim Pillow’s very soul. Yet Pillow fought with the ferocity of a storm, his body ablaze, his blade a beacon of unbreakable will. He countered Reven’s attacks with brutal efficiency, each clash echoing with the cries of the souls Reven had claimed.

Finally, in a moment of clarity, Pillow found his opening. He feinted left, drawing Reven’s blade aside, and with a roar, drove his own weapon forward, piercing through the dark armor and into the heart of the Curseweaver. Reven staggered, his form flickering, and as he fell, the souls around him dissolved into light, their anguish fading into silence.

Pillow stood alone amid the aftermath, his breath heavy, his blade bloodied but his spirit unbroken. He had taken down three of the Ragnarök Curseweavers, each one a testament to Nagorak’s might. But for Pillow, it was just another day, another battlefield where he had proven his worth.
