Chapter 1: The Warning from Voidcryst

In the vast and ever-shifting expanse of the Caliburn, aboard the celestial vessel Skysworn, a restless calm settled over the crew. Idaten and Benten, seasoned explorers and protectors of the boundless expanses, found themselves immersed in their routines when a strange anomaly began to manifest. A low, pulsating hum resonated through the ship, growing louder with every passing moment. The source was unmistakable—the Voidcryst they had retrieved weeks earlier was reacting violently, glowing with an otherworldly luminance that defied comprehension.

Skysworn

Idaten’s sharp gaze fell upon the Voidcryst, a crystalline artifact that shimmered with shades of violet and silver, its beauty matched only by the sense of dread it exuded. Before he could act, a voice—soft yet filled with urgency—emanated from within the crystal. It was Izana. Her image, ghostly and fragile, appeared suspended within the heart of the Voidcryst. Her plea was clear: "The Lynxslash Voidcryst is fracturing. Its destruction will ripple across all manifest expanses. You must act."

The weight of her words settled heavily upon the duo. Benten, with his calm demeanor and analytical mind, stepped forward. “Izana, how can we prevent this?” he asked, his voice steady despite the ominous revelation. But the apparition offered little guidance beyond the warning, her form flickering as if the energy sustaining her presence was waning.

“We don’t have a choice,” Idaten declared, his tone resolute. "Set a course for the Lynxslash Sacrarium. If what she says is true, this fracture could unmake realities as we know them."

The Skysworn’s engines roared to life, propelling the vessel through the shifting ethers of the Caliburn. As they approached the Sacrarium, the duo prepared for what they knew would be a perilous undertaking. The Lynxslash Sacrarium, a sacred site revered by scholars and adventurers alike, was said to house the purest Voidcrysts—artifacts of immense power and danger.

The Sacrarium’s entrance loomed before them, a monolithic gateway etched with inscriptions that seemed to shimmer and shift as if alive. Upon entering, the air grew heavy with a palpable sense of ancient energy. Idaten and Benten moved cautiously, their senses heightened, as they ventured deeper into the sanctum. The Voidcryst at the Sacrarium’s core radiated a brilliance that illuminated the cavernous space, its light casting long shadows that danced along the walls.

Standing before the Lynxslash Voidcryst was a figure cloaked in arcane energy. His presence was commanding, his form shrouded in an aura that distorted the very fabric of the space around him. Idaten stepped forward, his hand instinctively resting on the hilt of his weapon. “Step away from the Voidcryst,” he commanded, his voice echoing through the chamber.

The figure turned, revealing a visage partially obscured by a mask etched with cryptic symbols. He regarded them with an unsettling calm before speaking, his voice deep and resonant. “You cannot comprehend the significance of this act. It must be done.”

Despite their protests, the figure raised a hand, channeling a surge of suggslogic that rippled through the chamber. The Voidcryst began to tremble, fractures spreading across its surface like veins of light. Idaten and Benten launched into action, their movements synchronized as they attempted to stop him. Yet, his power was overwhelming. With a final, devastating strike, the Voidcryst shattered, releasing a shockwave that hurled the duo across the chamber.

From the remnants of the Voidcryst, Izana emerged, her form luminous and ethereal. Her voice, though weakened, carried a tone of unyielding determination. “Take this,” she said, extending her hand to reveal the ❦Queen of Gardens❦. “You must safeguard it.” Before they could respond, she used the last of her energy to teleport them to safety.

The Skysworn’s familiar surroundings greeted them, but the scene was one of devastation. Their vessel lay in ruins, the crew slain by the enigmatic figure they now knew as the Gospel of Vicissitude. Grief and anger coursed through Idaten as he surveyed the aftermath. Benten placed a hand on his shoulder, grounding him.

“We must report this to the Red Monarch,” Idaten said, his voice heavy with resolve. We need to prepare.”

As the duo set their sights on the Crimson Citadel, the weight of their mission bore down upon them. The warning from the Voidcryst was just the beginning of a journey that would test their strength, resolve, and the very fabric of their reality.
