Dlclaifsein Article – The Limits of Power
The Limits of Power are...
As a default metric, even before Heir to the Stars, a character could see the highest category and simply disregard substance, being, and the unity perceived in all beings by virtue of their existing, even if it is viewed in another way not tied to an alternative analogy.
- All beings are like, or analogous to, each other in existing. Being is tied to Names. Being is tied to Terms. Being is tied to Essence. The Limits of Power allows a character to disregard Names, Terms, and Essence and the real distinction between existence and essence in order to be above it.
- The real distinction between existence and essence is that Existence is the principle that gives reality to an essence not the same in any way as the existence: "If things having essences are real, and it is not of their essence to be, then the reality of these things must be found in some principle other than (really distinct from) their essence." The Limits of Power supersedes the real distinction between existence and essence and the character disregards both to achieve its goal.
- Distinct Act, a "to be", which actuates any unity is superseded by the Limits of Power. Just as the analogy of "essence is related to existence as potency is related to act", The Limits of Power eliminates not only analogies, but pure acts, a "to be", and disrespectfully ignores it and supersedes it.
The Limits of Power supersedes existences that are not things; such as they do not themselves exist, they lend themselves to essences, which do not intrinsically have them.
- Power itself does not exist. It lends itself to essence.
The Limits of Power supersedes existences that have no nature; as an existence receives its nature from the essence it actuates. Existence is not being; it gives being – here a customary phrase is used, existence is a principle (a source) of being, not a previous source, but one which is continually in effect. The stage is set for the concept of God or Deus as the cause of all existence, who, as the Almighty, holds everything actual without reason or explanation as an act purely of will. The Limits of Power doesn't simply just disrespect, ignore and surpass language and categorization of ontological and pataphysical concepts; it literally transcends Names, Terms, and Essence - and the Essence that is unknowable.
The Transcendentals
The Limits of Power supersedes the beyondness of the transcendence of "the property" of a story hierarchy; an essential Omniversal truth of the existence, but not in the definition (and can be defined in other ways). A mere infinitesimal story hierarchy completely surpasses the Absolute Infinite, the End of Infinity, Author Transcendence, and Grand Meta-Narratives; which is to point out that the predicables of a Story Hierarchy are predicated univocally; that is, they refer to "the same thing" found in each instance. The Limits of Power encompasses and transcends whatever that can be said about being is not univocal, because all beings are unique, each actuated by a unique existence. It is the analogous possession of an existence that allows them to be identified as being; therefore, being is an analogous predication, to which every Story Hierarchy is attached to.
- The Limits of Power is always unattached to, yet all-encompassing whatever can be predicated of all things, such as Omniversal-like but not Omniversal, category-like but not a category. Transcendentals "climb above" the categories, just as "being" climbs above substance or "the properties of being." The Limits of Power utterly ignores transcendence as it is attached to essence, which of course is attached to Names, Terms, and Essence - and the essence that is unknowable.
Power - Irrelevance
Power is the lowest of the spectrum; always. Any power, capability, status, or influence that can be attached to Pattern, Invariance, Complexity, Representation, Information, fundamental constructs of Omniversal science, or a novel mathematical framework; or "the property" of all the aforementioned such as an essential Omniversal science of Power, but not in the definition (and can be defined in other ways) will automatically aim to overcome the limitations of characterization and measure subjective information. Because of Power itself, it will always remain at the bottom of the Limits of Power, despite it always transcending itself, and constantly in a state of climbing above transcendence.
