Chris Raion Spades

“Listen, when I say that I am going to stand above you and kill you, there is nothing that you can do but cease to exist.”
Chris Raion Spades is ♠The Ace of Spades♠ that appears in Heir to the Stars. He is the main protagonist of the story. He is the original protagonist of the Heir to the Stars verse.
Chris Raion Spades, commonly known as Chris Spades and bearing the title Ace of Spades, is one of the foundational characters of Heir to the Stars and one of the earliest major figures established within the greater Suggsverse narrative. Originally introduced as a mysterious being searching for the purpose behind his own existence, Chris would eventually become one of the central figures surrounding the Heir to the Stars, the Royal Flush, the Limits of Power, the Art Gallery, and the struggle over who would ultimately succeed the Ace of Spades. His journey gradually expands beyond the boundaries of a conventional protagonist, placing him in direct conflict with the nature of authorship, narrative determination, predetermined history, and even the apparent relationship between a fictional character and the person writing his story.
Despite eventually reaching a position where he could stand among the Heirs to the Stars, Chris's history is defined less by his pursuit of supremacy than by his search for meaning. From the beginning, he possesses power far beyond the standards of the worlds surrounding him, yet strength never answers the question that actually motivates him. Chris wants to understand why he exists. As his journey continues, this question evolves from a private existential problem into one of the central mysteries surrounding the Heir to the Stars itself. Eventually, Chris becomes both a participant in the search for an Heir and one of the figures manipulating events from behind the apparent narrative, with much of his later attention turning toward his daughter, Pulse.
History
Chris Spades' recorded history begins with an event described as occurring twenty-three years before the beginning of his original story. Unlike an ordinary person, however, Chris was neither born nor created. He simply appeared. There was no childhood preceding his arrival, no conventional origin, and no known creator responsible for bringing him into existence. His earliest conscious condition was defined by uncertainty. Chris did not know why he existed or what purpose he was intended to fulfill. The only direction available to him came from a mysterious voice instructing him to locate the Three Sacred Flames and prevent the Lifting of the Veil.
The apparent contradiction between Chris "appearing" twenty-three years earlier and later claims concerning his beginning eventually becomes an important part of his history. The original account establishes the moment in which Chris entered the observable story, but later revelations complicate the idea that this event represented his true beginning. Chris would eventually reveal that the beings associated with the Royal Flush did not originate from Tentei despite claims to the contrary. According to Chris himself, the Royal Flush possesses no beginning in the conventional sense. The twenty-three-year marker therefore represents the beginning of Chris Spades' known narrative rather than necessarily representing the absolute beginning of Chris himself.
Chris's original journey begins in the Third Sphere, where he searches for one of the Sacred Flames. His mission quickly places him in contact with individuals whose knowledge extends beyond the world he initially understands. One of the earliest is Zechariah, a prophet of Tentei, who warns Chris that the world is approaching its end. Chris also encounters Agito, Asamoya Hibana, Nikkou Hibana, and others connected with Asahi. These confrontations steadily expand the scale of his journey. What initially appears to be the search for three artifacts becomes connected to the destruction of worlds, the restructuring of stories, the instability of reality, the Lifting of the Veil, and a much larger sequence of events surrounding the End.
Even during these earliest encounters, Chris demonstrates an unusual relationship with the world around him. He does not simply manipulate physical phenomena. He manipulates chronology, narrative sequences, observation, information, reality, and eventually the pages through which events themselves are presented. His technique Setsugekka, associated with snow, moon, and flowers, allows him to present reality as though he were directing the story itself. During his confrontation with Scourge, Chris even rewinds the pages of the narrative to restore what had been destroyed. When Scourge attempts to reduce Setsugekka to information and eliminate it through his own authority over information, Chris advances into Kaerizaku, representing a second blooming of his power and understanding.
These conflicts reveal that Chris's greatest concern is not actually victory. Despite constantly fighting opponents who claim supremacy over reality, Chris admits that he does not understand the purpose of his own existence. His battles function partly as a search for an opponent capable of ending him. He possesses no certainty that he should continue existing forever, and the inability of his opponents to bring his existence to an end only deepens the unanswered question surrounding him.
His encounter with Tentei makes this existential problem explicit. Tentei questions Chris concerning whether he has ever considered the end of his own existence. Chris admits that he sees no apparent purpose behind his existence and has therefore repeatedly entered battle hoping to encounter someone powerful enough to finally end it. Rather than answer him directly, Tentei tells Chris that his existence is connected to the Spades and that he will eventually discover his reason for being. Shortly afterward, Chris confronts Raison d'être, also known as Scourge, placing the very idea of a "reason for existence" directly into the path of a character whose fundamental problem is that he possesses none that he can recognize.
As Chris's journey continues, he begins moving beyond opponents who merely represent destruction, divinity, or conventional supremacy. By the period represented in I. Heir to the Stars: Chris Raion Spades, he openly bears the identity of the Ace of Spades and begins confronting beings recognized as Almighty Gods within their respective realities. Yahweh, As-Samad, Maheshvar, and other supposedly absolute beings prove incapable of answering the problem represented by Chris. Their claims of total power mean little to someone whose existence no longer functions according to the conditions they consider ultimate.
Chris eventually seeks confirmation from Tentei that he is an Heir to the Stars. At this stage, she denies him. Although Chris has already surpassed beings who would consider themselves supreme, Tentei demonstrates that he has not yet reached the reality necessary to understand what the Heir to the Stars actually represents. She allows Chris to attack her repeatedly while remaining completely beyond his attempts to reach her. The encounter forces Chris to confront a distinction that becomes increasingly important throughout the series: the Limits of Power cannot simply be reached by possessing a greater quantity of power.
The next major development in Chris's history occurs when the boundaries separating character and author begin to collapse.
Chris eventually meets L.C. Suggs, the writer responsible for Heir to the Stars. Rather than behaving as a fictional character encountering his creator, Chris speaks to L.C. as someone who possesses knowledge that the author himself has not yet written. Their conversation radically complicates the apparent relationship between writer and character. L.C. recognizes that he never created a complete background for Chris and asks him directly about his origins. Chris responds by explaining that neither he nor the Royal Flush came from Tentei in the manner previously suggested. He states that the Royal Flush possesses no beginning.
Chris also reveals his true objective.
Despite the tremendous authority he has acquired, he does not desire an endless ascent toward a greater throne. He desires an end.
Chris explains that he does not want to spend eternity changing things, creating things, or perpetually continuing his existence. He eventually wants to cease. However, Chris also understands that the events surrounding the Heir to the Stars are being manipulated by forces such as Tentei and Satan. Because of this, he refuses to simply end himself immediately. He has begun manipulating events as well. In his own words, Tentei is not the only puppet master.
The relationship between Chris and L.C. consequently becomes one of the earliest explicit disruptions of the boundary between the Suggsverse and its author. Chris tells L.C. to continue writing while simultaneously implying that the author is receiving the story through Chris's perspective rather than simply inventing it independently. L.C. believes himself to be writing Heir to the Stars, while Chris behaves as though the written story is only one expression of events that already possess their own reality.
Later material provides additional context for Chris's place within the larger franchise. In Solecism Re-Genesis, Lorelei explains that Chris Raion Spades was the first Suit established to undergo a series of trials designed to unlock the reality behind his principle. Completion of those trials resulted in Chris being selected to appear before the Art Gallery. His journey was therefore never merely an isolated adventure. The original Heir to the Stars was part of a much larger succession narrative concerned with discovering individuals capable of eventually replacing the Ace of Spades.
This project extended beyond Chris. Chris Raion Spades, Pulse, Yukinori Fubuki, Praé, Alexander Birthright, and Christopher Sincere Pride would all eventually become connected to the Heir to the Stars succession. The events of Heir to the Stars, Dynamis, Praé, Swan Song, All-World, Glory of the Defeated, and The Church of Necessary Evil would become intertwined with this greater search.
Chris eventually reaches the Limits of Power, but this achievement changes the direction of his ambitions. Rather than obsessively pursuing the Heir to the Stars for himself, he begins working to place his daughter Pulse in a position to inherit that possibility. Callimachus Pride eventually identifies Pulse as perhaps the most important of the emerging Heirs and explains that Chris has manipulated an extraordinary number of events while attempting to position his daughter as the eventual Heir to the Stars.
This creates one of the defining transformations in Chris's character. The original Chris Spades was a man desperate to understand the purpose of his own existence. The later Chris becomes a father willing to manipulate the Script itself in order to open a path for someone who comes after him.
Chris and Pulse eventually confront one another directly. Chris acknowledges the symbolic appropriateness of father and daughter eventually standing opposite each other, while Pulse deliberately saves him as one of her final opponents. Yet their conflict is never merely adversarial. Chris is simultaneously challenging her, evaluating her, protecting her, and attempting to ensure that she reaches a place that even his own journey could not originally guarantee.
During this period, Chris also encounters Christopher Sincere Pride, another individual connected to the eventual succession of the Heir to the Stars. Their confrontation demonstrates just how far both men have traveled beyond their original contexts. Chris recognizes Sincere's acquisition of the King's Soul, while Sincere forces Chris to reassess developments that have occurred outside his expectations.
Eventually, the answer to one of the oldest questions in Chris's story finally arrives.
Tentei, who once denied Chris's claim that he was an Heir to the Stars, ultimately recognizes him as her Heir to the Stars. At approximately the same point, Yukinori Fubuki, Christopher Sincere Pride, Praé, and Alexander Birthright receive corresponding recognition from their associated figures. Chris therefore finally receives the designation he once sought.
By then, however, he no longer needs the title to validate his existence.
His attention has already moved beyond himself.
The Royal Flush
Chris Raion Spades is directly associated with the Royal Flush, an enigmatic group whose origins remain connected to some of the oldest unresolved mysteries within Heir to the Stars. When discussing the Royal Flush with L.C. Suggs, Chris explicitly rejects the suggestion that they originated from Tentei. He states that the Royal Flush possesses no beginning, establishing its members as something fundamentally different from entities whose history can be traced through conventional creation.
Chris's relationship with the Royal Flush also helps explain why his apparent beginning twenty-three years before the original narrative should not necessarily be interpreted as a literal creation event. His recorded appearance may represent the moment the story began observing Chris rather than the point at which Chris became possible.
The full truth concerning the Royal Flush remains deliberately unresolved.
Personality

Chris Spades is a complex persona who has dedicated his existence to mastering the cosmic arts and pushing the limits of power, driven by a deep-seated disdain for those who operate in realms far beyond human comprehension. This animosity is particularly directed towards the Deus entities and anything that claims omnipotence or exists beyond omnipotent realms.
Despite his profound pride in his own formidable abilities, Chris does not fall into the trap of arrogance. He possesses a keen awareness of his position in the hierarchy of power, recognizing those who surpass him and those who pose a genuine threat to his ambitions. This realistic self-assessment fuels his relentless pursuit of his ultimate goal: to confront and eradicate all Creator entities. Only upon achieving this monumental task does he seek to meet his own End.
Chris's strength lies in his unparalleled mastery of the ascending ladder of the mind and his expertise in suggslogic, a sophisticated and esoteric discipline that surpasses conventional logic and understanding. His dedication to these arts is unwavering, providing him with a unique edge in his quest.
In his journey, Chris is not merely a warrior but a philosopher of power, constantly challenging and redefining the boundaries of what is possible. His disdain for the weak is not born out of cruelty but a belief in the necessity of strength and the relentless pursuit of excellence. This philosophy drives him forward, ensuring that every step he takes is one towards his ultimate confrontation with the very fabric of creation.
Relationships

Pulse is the daughter of Chris Raion Spades and Setsugekka Majikkumira. Her lineage immediately places her in an extraordinary position: her father is an Ace of Spades, while her mother is identified as a former Ace of Spades who later became a Pioneer. Re.Heir to the Stars -Overture
Unlike many other potential Heirs, Pulse required no conventional training to reach her early position. Her natural condition was already considered sufficiently extraordinary that other major figures within the succession viewed her as one of its most significant participants.
Chris eventually becomes heavily invested in Pulse's future. Although he himself qualifies as an Heir to the Stars, he begins manipulating events toward the possibility that Pulse will receive the title instead. His ambitions consequently become generational. Chris does not merely seek the Limits of Power for himself; he attempts to create the circumstances through which his daughter can inherit everything his journey uncovered.
Their relationship is also intellectually adversarial in an important way. Chris frequently operates with the confidence of someone who believes he understands every Script surrounding him. Pulse eventually confronts him with events that she believes lie outside the Scripts he has observed. She addresses him directly as her father while rejecting his certainty that he already understands what is coming.
Pulse is therefore not merely Chris's descendant. She represents a continuation and potential contradiction of his philosophy. Chris spent his existence learning how to read, manipulate, and eventually move around the Script. Pulse begins reaching situations in which even her father's knowledge of the Script may no longer provide the final answer.

Lapis is the long-term partner of Chris Spades, a relationship that has withstood the test of time across countless eons. Their bond is shrouded in mystery, and the exact duration of their union remains unknown, adding an air of intrigue to their legendary partnership. In the "Heir to the Stars" series, their relationship holds the distinction of being the longest-recorded, a testament to their enduring connection.
The nature of their relationship is unique and profound. Chris Spades, with his unparalleled mastery of the cosmic arts and indomitable will, is one of the few beings immune to the overwhelming presence of Lapis. This immunity is not just a defensive trait but a foundation that allows their love to flourish without the usual constraints that Lapis's existence imposes on others. Their relationship is not merely a romantic entanglement but a symbiotic union where both partners complement and enhance each other’s strengths.
Chris and Lapis share a complete and unbreakable union, one that transcends the conventional boundaries of love and partnership. Their bond encompasses all aspects of their beings—physical, emotional, and metaphysical. This union is not just about affection or companionship; it is a profound merging of their souls, powers, and destinies. Together, they form a formidable duo, their combined presence influencing the very fabric of the cosmos.
Lapis, with her enigmatic and powerful nature, finds in Chris a partner who not only understands her but also stands as an equal. This balance is crucial, for it allows Lapis to express her true self without restraint, knowing that Chris can withstand and reciprocate her power. Their relationship is a delicate dance of cosmic energies, where each movement and decision is made with an implicit understanding and respect for the other's strengths and vulnerabilities.
The depth of their connection is reflected in their actions and the way they navigate the challenges of their universe. Chris Spades, with his relentless pursuit of power and his disdain for weakness, finds solace and strength in Lapis. She, in turn, finds in Chris a partner who is not intimidated by her existence but rather embraces it fully. This mutual acceptance and empowerment create a dynamic that is both awe-inspiring and enviable.

Setsugekka Majikkumira is the mother of Pulse and one of the most significant known figures connected to Chris Raion Spades' personal life. She is explicitly identified as a former Ace of Spades and a current Pioneer, giving Pulse a lineage connected to two individuals who have occupied the Ace of Spades position or identity.
The currently recovered material establishes Setsugekka and Chris as Pulse's parents but gives comparatively little direct information concerning the private history of their relationship. Their connection is therefore undeniable, but the exact nature and chronology of their romance remain less documented than Chris's relationship with his daughter or his involvement with the Heir to the Stars.
Because of this, Setsugekka should be recognized as Chris's most significant confirmed intimate relationship without automatically assigning a marital status that the presently available text does not explicitly establish.
Powers and Abilities I

He can withstand an attack capable of destroying the entire Teraverse (a boundless array of all possible and impossible configurations of Metaverses) without sustaining any damage.
Enhanced Resistance:
Chris Spades can resist the effects of halted movement on a quantum level, even when within a trans-dimensional territory that separates from reality and vanishes into nothingness. Scourge, an entity capable of commanding and deleting existence itself, could not erase Chris Spades. When reality shattered, Chris was seen standing in the void where reality could not persist, unaffected by the devastation around him.
Existence Resistance:
Chris Spades is immune to the existential effects of Lapis' presence, rendering her abilities ineffective against him.
Absolute Foresight:
Chris Spades possesses the ability to advance events before they occur, ignoring the constraints of possibility and nothingness. He can observe all potential attacks and effects of an opponent, enabling him to counteract them preemptively.
Dimension Manipulation:
Chris Spades can effortlessly traverse dimensions, tearing through them and sealing them back up. Even within imaginary space, he can create and mend rifts, maintaining control over the fabric of reality.
Logic Barrier:
Chris Spades can break the logic barrier surrounding a target, bypassing any established rules or constraints connected to that character. This ability allows him to defy conventional limitations and manipulate reality as he sees fit.
Event Manipulation:
Chris Spades can reconfigure the union of Nothing and Possibility before information can process. He can revert events to a state before Creation itself and fold reality backward, causing it to have never existed. He can traverse across events, tearing through reality to return to any moment, without prior information. He has the power to command events to cease their actions against him, demonstrating ultimate control over the flow of time and reality.
Story Manipulation:
Chris Spades can rewind the pages of the cosmic narrative, restoring entire events. He returned the erased Teraverse by manipulating the story's timeline. Confined by the story, Chris can rewind the narrative to a point where his opponent cannot exist. He can stop all events within the story, as demonstrated in "Heir to the Stars: Joker," where he altered the plot and narrative at will.
State of Being Manipulation:
Chris Spades can shift the 'state of being' of any character beyond the vanishing point of all modes of existence. This power allows him to alter the fundamental nature of a being, transcending all known forms of existence and pushing them beyond the conceptual and existential limits of reality. Through this ability, Chris can render an opponent's existence null, effectively removing them from the cosmic tapestry.
Temporal Aging and Erasure:
Chris Spades possesses the ability to halt the narrative flow of a story and accelerate the aging process of a character until they dissolve into stardust, ultimately fading away into the end of dreams. This skill not only ages his opponents beyond recognition but also erases their presence from the story, making them cease to exist in any form.
Transcendental Teleportation and Erasure:
Chris Spades can appear next to his opponent before they can even process a thought by navigating through the gap between possibility and nothingness. This extraordinary ability allows him to bypass the constraints of time and space. By pulling out the script of the story, he can erase the possibility and nothingness of a target, effectively removing their potential existence and all traces of their presence.
Right Hand of God:
Chris Spades demonstrated his overwhelming power by eliminating the entire North Region, which housed every hierarchy containing an absolute infinite multiplicity of infinite Omniverses within them. With a single attack, he obliterated all phenomena, including the eternal, immortal, infinite, finite, change, matter, space, energy, being, imagination, and everything beyond. Even the void itself fell victim to his might. All systems and scopes succumbed to his unparalleled power, leaving nothing in their wake.
Mind Invasion and Infinite Assault:
Chris Raion Spades managed to penetrate the mind of Tentei, launching an infinite and direct assault on her. He attacked her infinitely and through the infinitude of the infinite that proceeded from the infinite. His assault targeted her transcendent reality infinitely, simultaneously attacking her mind and absolute reality. Chris Spades' attack was trans-omnipresent, trans-immanent, trans-infinite, transcendental, and beyond all systems and levels, showcasing his supreme dominance over all realms of existence.
Powers and Abilities II
- All of these abilities are Heir to the Stars II and Heir to the Stars: Chris Raion Spades.
- All of these abilities are Heir to the Stars: Skylar Kousenshou and Heir to the Stars: Overture.
Lion's Den Level:
Chris Spades possesses the extraordinary ability to enter and walk through the Lion's Den, a metaphorical and literal representation of the most dangerous and hostile realms in existence. This level of power signifies his mastery over spaces that are transcendentally considered insurmountable, showcasing his fearlessness and unparalleled strength. The Lion's Den, being a place of ultimate peril, serves as a testament to Chris's capability to navigate and dominate the most treacherous environments, further cementing his legendary status.
Beyond Presence:
Chris Spades operates on a level where his presence and actions transcend the conventional concepts of existence. His attacks are immanent, meaning they exist within all things simultaneously, making them unavoidable and omnipresent. The concepts of Planck time, the smallest measurable unit of time, change, and presence cannot process his movements. This means that Chris's actions occur beyond the limits of measurable time and spatial constraints, making him an entity that exists outside the bounds of conventional reality. His movements and attacks are instantaneous and omnipresent, rendering him an omnipotent force within the multiverse.
Omniverse Manipulation:
Chris Spades wields the power to manipulate the entirety of the continua of omni-realities, demonstrating unparalleled control over all forms of existence. In an astonishing display of his abilities, the Ace of Spades rapidly absorbed the entire Omniverse into his pinky. This feat, achieved (paradoxically) in Planck time, illustrates his capacity to manipulate, absorb, and nullify entire realms of existence effortlessly. The absorption of the Omniverse into his pinky symbolizes his ability to command and contain the vast complexities of all possible realities, emphasizing his supreme dominance over the highest form of the multiverse.
Tentei Level Threat:
Chris Spades is recognized as a threat of the highest order, even by Tentei, a being of immense power. Tentei acknowledged that Chris has the capability to attack and affect her, a testament to his formidable strength. However, it is his own mind that holds him back, suggesting that his potential is even greater than his current abilities. Chris's ability to enter The Mind of Tentei of his own power further highlights his extraordinary mental and cataphysical capabilities. This act signifies his capacity to penetrate and influence the thoughts and consciousness of even the most powerful beings, positioning him as a transcendent force within the cosmos.
Kaerizaku
When the Armageddon Seal is shattered, Seal 0.009001 – Omega will be released. This brings out an alternative persona of Chris Spades, allowing him to utilize his full power.
- Muryou Sokudo Chikei: This is the ability to completely absorb the possibility and nothingness of everything in creation, which he can then use at his disposal. This terrain stretches as far as nothing and possibility can go.
- Muryou Tousui Heki: Chris Spades – Kaerizaku has full command over the limits of the material and immaterial planes of the Allscape. Objects, subjects, and ideas are under his power. He is directly linked with the underlying energy behind The Mainfold, commanding full authority over its principle.
- This is all before Heir to the Stars: Overture (as it's no longer relevant during and after this series).
Powers and Abilities III
- All of these abilities are Continued Story....
Transcendence Over the ♠The Ace of Spades♠:
Chris Spades possesses capabilities that allow him to easily surpass the level known as ♠The Ace of Spades♠. This denotes a monumental achievement, as ♠The Ace of Spades♠ is often considered a pinnacle of power within the Suggsverse hierarchy. Chris's ability to exceed this level suggests an immense growth in his powers, placing him at a tier where he is not only dominant but also virtually unmatched.
Aheimopulus Mastery:
Chris Spades has mastered Aheimopulus, a sophisticated and esoteric branch of prelude-∀philosophy within the Suggsverse. This mastery allows him to manipulate and understand concepts that operate beyond the conventional bounds of reality, exploring the deepest questions of existence and essence. His proficiency in Aheimopulus grants him insights and abilities that transcend the usual limitations imposed by physical and pataphysical laws.
∀[S]parainsurmountable Existence:
Chris Spades now operates on a ∀[S]parainsurmountable scale, a state of being that defies all known systems and dimensions of understanding. This indicates that Chris exists at a level so profoundly boundless that it surpasses not only suggsfinity but any other absolute condition or description. His presence and actions are beyond categorization, existing in a realm where traditional measures of power and existence are rendered obsolete.
SVKE Potential - Walking the Plane of Suggsverse von Kagami Ende:
Chris Spades possesses the potential to walk on the plane of Suggsverse von Kagami Ende, a realm that exists beyond all plots, stories, verses, and creators. This ability signifies a deep connection to the narrative and meta-narrative layers of the Suggsverse, where he can interact with the fabric of the narrative itself. This plane is so transcendent that it challenges and extends beyond the conventional boundaries of storytelling and creation.
Cataphysical Deus ex Machina:
Chris Spades can manipulate and defy the plot at a Cataphysical level. Cataphysics, in the context of the Suggsverse, involves dealing with questions and phenomena that exist beyond the standard metaphysical realms. By utilizing Cataphysical Deus ex Machina, Chris can alter reality in ways that are fundamentally impossible by normal standards, effectively acting as a 'god machine' that rewrites events, outcomes, and even the foundational rules of the narrative itself.
